This is a beautiful purple cabochon cut amethyst set in 9ct gold. The top of the ring is from the late Victorian period, but the shank has been replaced with a newer model. The join has been done expertly and cannot be seen. The shank was, most likely, replaced due to wear and tear.
The ring is hallmarked as 9ct gold.
The amethyst is 2cm in length by 1.5cm wide.
