This solid 9ct gold egg pendant is truly marvellous. It has a red enamel bow as the main detail of the egg and at the centre of the bow is a hinge. The egg opens to reveal a small papier mache chick.
The egg itself is etched as if it were an easter egg and the pendant is fully hallmarked as 9ct gold. It has a date stamp of 1960.
Although this is not particularly old, it is a wonderful piece and I have never seen anything like it. The egg itself is 2.3cm long (this does not include the jump ring) and is 1.5cm wide. The bow stretches wider than the egg. The enamel on the bow is not perfect, but with a piece like this, I do not think it matters. |
