These baroque pearl earrings are made from solid gold and are from the early Georgian period, probably approximately the 1760s. The pearls have a real charm about them and are natural and all original to the piece. They hang loosely on a gold circular wire with a basic horseshoe design hanging in the centre of the pearl circle. This part of the earrings is made from high carat gold, but the 9ct gold hooks have been added later. The earrings have quite a lot of lead repair around the balls at the end of each wire, but this does not detract from their beauty. It is extemely rare to find some earrings like this and their handmade quality really adds to their elegance. The circular part of the earrings measures 18mm in diameter. The hooks add an extra 9mm to the length.
