This Victorian pendant is a wonderful unusual design and is made from high carat gold, probably 15 carat gold. There are six natural stones of coral embedded into the design and there is no variation in the colour of the stones as they are all a perfect salmon orange, which is typical of this gem. The pendant has a central old cut diamond set into a star design typical of jewellery from this period. All stones are original to the piece.

The pendant has been tested as high carat gold and it has a locket back with the original glass. There are some small areas of damage to the back of the pendant. The gold has been slightly damaged where the locket back has been removed previously and there is a possibility that it used to be a brooch as there is a little remnant of solder at the base of the pendant on the back and where the bale has been connected. All of the above can be seen in the pictures. None of these small peculiarities detract from the beauty of the piece, particularly for a coral lover!

The pendant measures 2.2cm by 1.8cm. The bale adds an extra 0.8cm to the length.
