This lovely heart locket is made from solid 15 carat gold and is from the late Victorian/Edwardian period. It is in immaculate condition with no dings and has a pearl set in a star design on the front. The back has some ornate initials engraved into it, possibly B.M. or M.B., but it is difficult to tell with these things and, in this case, it adds to the beauty of the piece as it is so expertly done. By the looks of the engraving, it was probably done when the piece was made.

The gold is not hallmarked, but has been tested as 15ct gold. The frames inside the locket are no longer there, but a photo could be stored inside as there is a small lip to the inside front. The locket measures 2.7cm from the top of the bale to the tip of the heart. The heart is 1.8cm wide.
