| Early Victorian Coral & Pearl Brooch/Pendant |
This is a stunning item of jewellery from the Georgian/early Victorian period. It is made from 9ct rose gold and has 12 gorgeous circular red coral stones set around the edge. Inside of this is a row of natural seed pearls which surround a beautiful large rectangular piece of red coral. Both the coral and pearls are all original and the coral has not faded in the slightest as can often happen with pieces of this age. This is primarily a brooch, but has a bale in the centre of one side allowing it to convert into a pendant with ease. It has a rectangular locket back, which could probably be removed by a jeweller, though I have not removed it myself. This brooch is in immaculate condition and is 9ct gold. The gold is not hallmarked, but has been tested. It measures 2.6cm by 3cm and the pendant bale adds an extra 0.7cm to the shorter side. |
