This emerald and diamond ring is absolutely stunning with a central diamond that spreads approximately 1/2 a carat, though probably weighs approximately 0.45 of a carat as it is not as deep as the modern diamonds. It is a beautiful diamond with approximately VS2 clarity and G colour as it has no inclusions with the naked eye and very few when using a glass. As you can see in the picture, it is an old cut stone and you can see the culet (the point of the diamond) as a black dot in the centre of the table. This is quite usual with old cut diamonds.

The central diamond is flanked by two emerald cut bright, vibrant green emeralds. These have some inclusions as you would expect from emeralds of this age. Emeralds are a soft stone and it is rare to find original old stones without inclusions.

The stones are set in the original Edwardian platinum mount to offset the stones perfectly and the ring has had the shank replaced with an 18ct gold shank. This has been done expertly and it is only mentioned for accuracy as it is very difficult to tell that this is the case. The gold is not hallmarked, but has been tested.
