| Georgian Garnet Heart Locket |
This beautiful locket is from the Georgian period and is in fabulous condition. It is made from solid 18ct gold and has a central locket surrounded by square cut almandine garnets set into a scalloped edged heart shape. At the top of the heart is a spray of flowers, a typical emblem from this period.As the garnets are almandine garnets, they have a pink tint to them, which is incredibly pretty. The gold is 18ct gold, though this is not marked, and it is rose in colour, which compliments the stones perfectly. The whole piece is in excellent condition with the locket opening and clicking securely shut at the back.The pendant measures 3.7cm in length from the top of the jump ring to the tip of the heart. The locket is very slightly loose in the frame, but is in no danger of falling out of it's place. |
