| Victorian Silver Gilt Turquoise & Pearl Necklace |
This pretty necklace is from the Victorian period and is made from silver gilt. It has a large pale turquoise stone that is set in a silver gilt frame as it's centrepiece. Leading into this centre is a silver gilt chain with baroque natural pearls and two irregular shaped turquoise stones held in a silver gilt leaf design. Hanging down from the centre are two chain strands that have two more baroque pearls and two pale turquoise stones in the same design.The necklace is marked as 800, meaning that it is continental silver that has been been gilded with gold to give it a pale gold colour. It measures 16"/40.5cm with the longest hanging chain measuring 5.5cm. |
