Emeralds are very soft stones and, as such, often have a number of inclusions. This emerald is very clean indeed and has only a small mark towards the edge. It is surrounded by 10 old cut diamonds, which do have some inclusions. They give the ring amazing sparkle as they are of a good colour. There are two diamonds either side of the centrepiece aswell, which are set into the shoulders of the shank. The gold is hallmarked as 15ct on the inside of the shank and there has been an inscription there, although this has rubbed and is not unreadable. Ring size UK M 1/2 US 6.5 Garnet & Chrysoberyl Regency Ring Price: SOLD This is a beautiful example of a ring from the Regency period (early 19th Century). The centre stone is a natural chrysoberyl and is flanked either side by two heart-shaped almandine garnets. The stones are set in high carat gold and the entire ring is all original. Chrysoberyl is a little used stone now, but was widely used at the time. It is a semi-precious stone and is generally pale yellow in colour. One of the garnets in this ring is damaged, but the rest of the ring is in immaculate condition, which is incredible considering it's age. The 2 interlocking snake heads have turquoise stones set into their heads and rose cut diamonds as their eyes. The ring also shows their tails giving the impression that the snakes are curled up. This piece has an amazing hallmark which is incredibly clear and is dated 1920. A true antique and original piece. Ring size R 1/2, US size 9. This item could easily be resized as there is plenty of space away from the hallmark meaning you would not lose this incredible detail. Georgian Ruby & Pearl Ring Price: SOLD This Georgian ring is a fine example of a ring from this period with a beautiful pink central ruby of a decent size with nine pearls surrounding it that have been claw set. The ruby has an open back, which really shows the vibrant pink colour at its best. The stones are set in solid gold, probably 9ct. The ring is not hallmarked, but this is not unusual for a ring of this period. The shoulders of the ring are beaded with gold and this stops as the ring would go around the finger. This design adds extra charm to the ring. One of the pearls is a slightly different colour from the others. Eight of them have a grey tinge to them, but the other has a slight pink tinge. This indicates that it is likely to have been replaced at some point. Otherwise, the ring is entirely original and this slightly different pearl does not detract from the ring's overall appeal. The whole setting is 1.2cm in diameter.
