A gorgeous statement watch chain from the turn of the last century with various dates between 1898 and 1903. The chain is made from solid sterling silver with the lion passant stamped on every link, and has stunning chunky trombone links interspersed with oval links in a fetter design.
One of the dog clips is stamped for 1898, the other is 1903, whilst the t-bar is stamped 1902. Perhaps all the elements were made as a production of many and put together from a selection. It is possible that the chain is in its original condition as the date letters are so close. One dog clip and the t-bar appear to have the same maker, H.B.
At present, the t-bar moves freely along the chain on a large ring, though this does not fit over the final link so cannot be detached.

Size - The trombones measure around 35mm by 9mm. The whole chain measures approx 15 1/2”, though the wearable length is closer to around 15” due to its chunkiness.
