A beautiful star pendant from the late Victorian period, likely French in origin. The pendant is made from silver and 18ct gold, silver to the front and gold to the back. It is set with a round diamond to the centre with five rose cuts in each of the points, all of which sparkle beautifully. The pendant has a lovely chunky feel and has a replacement 9ct gold bail.
The pendant has a bar mechanism on the back that would likely have been used to thread it onto a velvet ribbon. This remains and is still functional. The chain pictured is for display only.
