Antique Large Cabochon Garnet Ring
A wonderful ring from the Victorian period, c1870s. The ring tests as around 15ct gold and has the most beautiful cabochon garnet at the centre. The garnet is set in a closed back gold setting with double claws around the edge. The gemstone is truly magnificent with a beautiful deep red glow. As it is closed back, the light seems to bounce off the gold and through the red of the stone magnifying its beautiful colour. A simple construction, though a true statement.
