Antique Large Moonstone Fan Pendant

£0.00
sold out

What a wonderful piece from the turn of the last century, c1900. This large pendant is made from 15ct gold and set throughout with glorious moonstones that are cabochon cut. It is shaped like a fan and all the moonstones are claw set. There is a wonderful feeling of symmetry across the piece with the adularescence of the moonstones running across all of the gemstones; it makes an incredible statement on the neck. It may well have started life as a buckle of sorts, though it is difficult to know this for sure as it has been converted expertly. A truly wonderful piece!

Details:

Materials - 15ct Gold (tested), Moonstones

Age - C1900

Size - The larger moonstone at the top measures approx 11mm in diameter. The row of moonstones at the bottom are around 7mm each and the smallest row towards the middle measure approx 3mm each. The others are all graduated in size in between. The piece itself measures approx 63mm across and is around 49mm high excluding the bail.

Condition - Very good. All stones are secure and the piece is in overall good antique condition. The top moonstone has a small chip to the underside, noted for accuracy only and not at all noticeable. One moonstone in the middle has some chips to the edge, also not noticeable. Overall, considering the content of the piece, it is in excellent condition.

Weight - 13.9g
