A pretty pair of earrings from the Victorian period. The earrings are faceted paste stones set in 9ct gold pie crust settings. The paste are fairly bright and have the black dot at the culet. Paste is a form of reinforced glass often used during this period to imitate diamonds. The presence of the black dot at the culet is an extra touch in the imitation. These earrings have 9ct gold shepherds hooks and likely started life as something else. They are a pretty and bright pair of solitaires.
