Antique Sapphire & Diamond Line Ring
A stunning ring from the early 20th Century, c1910s-20s. The ring is made from 18ct gold and silver and is such an interesting design as it replicates the style of construction similar to rings from the early Victorian period (c1840s), with the chunky silver mount and the pinched collet settings. The gemstones, however, are a wonderful mix of old cushion cuts for the diamonds and French cut sapphires and the techniques both in the construction of the ring and the gem cutting are more refined than an earlier ring. I would say this is a fairly rare piece given its interesting combination of styles and is perfect for regular wear due to the safety of the settings.
