Antique Silver Pomander

£0.00
sold out

A lovely example of a pomander dating to the Victorian period, c1860s. The pomander is a ball shaped container that has little perforations and would normally hold aromatic substances. This little ball could easily have been carried around and would have acted as a kind of perfume to the wearer. It is made from silver and has a lovely large sprung bolt ring meaning that it could be added to a necklace or bracelet with ease. The ball unscrews at the centre and the fitting is nice and firm. A lovely collectors item.

Details:

Materials - Silver (tested, possibly slightly lower grade than 925)

Age - C1860s

Size - The ball measures approx 19mm in diameter. The bolt ring measures approx 15mm in diameter

Condition - Very good. A little surface wear commensurate with age.

Weight - 6.22g
