A gorgeous, tactile heart locket from the end of the Victorian period, dated Chester 1901. The locket is made from solid 9ct gold and has full English hallmarks to the back, whilst also being marked inside and on the frames. Plenty of care and attention has gone into making this locket and it has a lovely, slightly puffy shape. The gold is very slightly rosy, as is often the case with 9ct gold from this period.
The locket opens on a hinge and there are two frames inside, which can be removed to place your own photos inside. It closes firmly shut with a satisfying click.
