A stunning snake ring from the early 20th Century. The ring is made from sterling silver and is endearingly marked as ‘standard silver’ on the inside. The silver has been gilded in the past, though this has worn over time and remains only in the crevices. I love mixed metals and the gold wear with the silver shining through is beautiful.
The ring is a lovely wide band with the snake coiling around the finger and the tail shown curled to one side. The head sits across the centre top and has two lovely bobbly eyes with a slightly parted mouth. This is such a lovely one; extremely hard to relinquish!

Materials - Sterling Silver (tested, marked)
Age - Early 20th Century
Size - The ring is approx 15mm wide at the head and around 12mm wide at the back.
Ring Size - UK O US 7 ¼ This is the top edge of the ring allowing for the width. It sits comfortably on my own O finger without being too tight.
Condition - Excellent. Gilding has worn and the ring appears mainly silver, please see the pictures.
