A gorgeous and fun brooch from the Art Deco period, c1920/30s. The brooch is made from 800 silver that has been gilded to resemble gold. It has been made in the shape of a birdcage with bright, clear paste stones across the top and little details to each side. Behind the cage, a bird dangles in place. The bird is also studded with clear paste stones and a ruby red paste eye. The cage hangs from its original brooch fastening, also with two little pastes at the centre. This could be worn as a brooch or on a chain as pictured. Such a fun and quirky piece!
