Arts & Crafts Moss Agate Earrings
A pretty pair of earrings from the turn of the last century, c1900. They are made from sterling silver and have pretty leaf designs around the edge. They seem certainly to have been designed during the Arts & Crafts period, a movement that started in the 1880s as a reaction to mass produced, low quality items in the marketplace at the time. The movement was created to allow artists to work with their hands and get closer to the product and thus create beautiful things of a higher quality. These elegant studs are a pretty representation and have beautiful moss agates at the centre. The agates are mainly a gentle white with lovely green and orange highlights.
