Early Victorian Double Row Paste Ring

A pretty ring from the early Victorian period, c1840s. The ring has two rows of old mine cut paste stones. The pastes have lovely high tables and sit in silver pinched collet settings in two even rows across the finger. The ring is complete with beautiful engraving in the shoulders of the 9ct gold shank and is entirely original.

This ring may have been made as a copy to a diamond version to allow the owner to wear her jewels out and about. Paste is a type of glass that has been reinforced and was created to mimic diamonds in similar jewellery.

Materials - 9ct Gold (tested), Silver, Paste

Age - C1840s

Size - The settings measure approx 7mm by 15mm wide.

Ring Size - UK N US 6 ¾ This ring could be resized a little.

Condition - Very good. Wear to the paste, commensurate with age
