Edwardian 9ct Garnet Necklace

A lovely, traditional necklace from the late Edwardian period, c1910s. The necklace is made from 9ct gold and has a lovely pair of faceted garnet gemstones set in millegrain settings. The garnets are a beautiful deep red and look very pretty against the skin. The pendant has a little geometric stem linking the two settings and this design is picked up with a triangle detail on the chain. The chain has the original barrel clasp and the piece is hallmarked in three places; the bottom of the pendant, a tab on the chain and the barrel clasp itself. A beautiful and elegant necklace.

Materials - 9ct Gold (marked), Garnet

Age - C1910s

Size - Large garnet measures approx 8.5mm in diameter, the smaller garnet measures approx 5.5mm in diameter. The pendant measures 27mm long in total. The chain part of the necklace is around 18” long
