Edwardian Black Opal Solitaire Ring

A pretty ring from the Edwardian period, c1910s. The ring is made from 15ct gold, marked on the inside of the shank, and has a stunning black opal set in a simple rub over setting. The opal displays beautiful fire and colour with hints of deep blue, green, reds and yellows. A truly wonderful specimen. The setting has a pierced gallery and is finished with elegant fleur-de-lys style shoulders to the shank.

Materials - 15ct Gold (marked), Black Opal

Age - C1910s

Size - The opal measures approx 12.5mm by 7.5mm.

Ring Size - UK K US 5 1/2. This ring could be resized

Condition - Very good. A couple of service scratches to the surface of the opal, noted for accuracy only and only visible through magnification
