Edwardian Diamond Snake Ring

£0.00
sold out

A wonderful ring from the early 20th Century, dated Chester 1912. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and has double snake heads that curl around each other at the top. The snakes have little mouths and bobble eyes and the back of each head is set with old mine cut diamonds. The diamonds are around 2.2mm in diameter narrowing to approximately 1.8mm. They follow the curve of the head and this ring is an elegant example of the snake style. It circles around the finger with a double shank and exhibits the wave of each snake tail on either side. A very beautiful ring overall.

Details:

Materials - 18ct Gold (full hallmarks), Diamonds

Age - Dated Chester 1912

Size - The ring is around 10mm wide at the top, narrowing to 4mm at the back.

Ring Size - UK P 1/2 US 8 This ring cannot be resized

Condition - Very good. One of the diamonds has a chip to the facet and a tiny knick in the table. I believe it was set as it is as the claw sits exactly where this chip is and it does not look to have been re-tipped. This detail is noted for accuracy only and is only visible through magnification.

Weight - 5.57g
