A stunning ring from the late Edwardian period, c1910s. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold, marked on the inside of the shank and is a classic trilogy style. At the centre is a deep green/blue sapphire with an overall appearance resembling a deep green tourmaline. This sapphire exhibits some classic inclusions for this gemstone when viewed through a loupe indicating that it is likely a natural stone. This is claw set and flanked by two yellow sapphires. These also exhibit a subtle green undertone. The combination of the colours is very unusual and this is the reason this ring is so appealing in my opinion. It certainly has a ‘je ne sais quoi’ about it!
