Edwardian 'Orange' Enamel Vinaigrette

An amazing and rare pendant from the Edwardian period, dated London 1912 and made from gilded silver. The pendant is a wonderful ball shape and is actually a representation of an orange with vibrant orange guilloche enamel all around and a little leaf design to the top. The orange opens on a hinge to the back and reveals a vinaigrette within. The vinaigrette clips into place and lifts out using the subtle lip around the edge. It is in beautiful condition and hangs on a silver gilt cable chain.

Materials - Silver Gilt (hallmarked), Enamel

Age - Dated London 1912

Size - The orange measures approx 27mm in diameter. It is around 37mm long including the bail. The chain is approx 2mm wide and has a wearable length of around 24”

Condition - Excellent. One very tiny area of enamel loss near the hinge, noted for accuracy only and only visible through a loupe.

Weight - 24g orange only, 28.1g with the chain
