Edwardian Plain Diamond Bangle
A pretty bangle from the Edwardian period, c1905. The bangle is made from 9ct rolled gold; a durable long lasting form of gold plating that is created by mechanically bonding sheets of 9ct gold on either side of a base metal such as brass, occasionally it is bonded to silver. It is more affordable than solid gold and much more wear resistant than simple gold plating or vermeil. This bangle has the soft rosy hue synonymous with gold from this period and is fairly pale in appearance. It is a classic hinged style with a natural diamond at the centre top set in a star design.
When sitting on the wrist, you would be forgiven for thinking this is a solid gold bangle. It has a great look and looks lovely worn alone or with others. It is complete with a safety chain and a firm clasp.
