Edwardian Sapphire & Diamond Flag Pendant
A stunning and unusual pendant from the Edwardian period, c1910s. The pendant is made from 18ct gold with an 18ct white gold setting to the front. It is set throughout with deep blue sapphires and little rose cut diamonds in a checkerboard pattern. The diamonds are set in groups of five and are lovely, sparkling rose cuts. The sapphires are natural with minimal wear and look dramatic next to the bright diamonds. This piece may have started life as something else, perhaps a locket, though it looks excellent in its current form and has been adapted expertly.
