Georgian Carnelian Spinner Ring

An absolutely incredible ring from the Georgian period, c1800. The ring is made from 9ct gold and has the most beautiful, decorative shank. The shank shows fabulous craftsmanship all the way around with its symmetry and shows the join in the back of the pattern. At the top is a perfectly polished rectangular piece of carnelian with carefully faceted edges. The carnelian spins in place and is a lovely deep orange colour. What a beauty.

This ring should be worn with care.

Materials - 9ct Gold (tested), Carnelian

Age - C1800

Size - The carnelian measures approx 13mm by 10mm. The shank is around 9mm at the ‘heart’ shoulders narrowing to 4.5mm at the back of the shank.

Ring Size - UK Q ¾ US 8 ½ This ring cannot be resized

Condition - Very good. Join can be seen at the back of the shank. A couple of tiny splits in the decoration of the gold, nothing of note and not visible when worn.
