An interesting and intriguing pendant from the late Georgian period, c1810/20. The pendant is a scent bottle carved from a nut. The nut has a pretty checkerboard pattern alternating with a diagonal stripe, all cut on the diagonal. It sits in an oval gold frame to the bottom, which has a fine belcher chain attached to it that feeds up and around the sides to join onto the lid. The lid flips open on a fine hinge. The gold details test as 18ct gold, whilst the bail is likely a replacement and tests as 9ct gold.

Age - Georgian, early 19th Century
Size - The scent bottle measures approx 25mm wide by 28mm high excluding the chain details. From the top of the bail to the base of the bottle, it is around 45mm high.
Condition - Very good. A little anomaly in the carving to the front, please see the pictures. The gold oval frame on the base is not fixed in place; it stays in the correct position perfectly when worn.
