An absolutely stunning chain from the Georgian period with a more ‘modern’ Edwardian clasp. The chain, unusually, is made from solid 9ct gold and has beautiful textured links in a belcher style chain. The links are classic to the Georgian period with their bobble texture, and are solid giving the chain a lovely feeling of quality. It is so elegant and slim enough to be worn with pendants, though it is statement enough to be worn alone. The proportions seem ideal.
The clasp has evidently be replaced at a later date, though the this came to me as it is, as it is a classic barrel clasp from the turn of the 20th Century, marked 9ct.
