A stunning pair of earrings from the end of the Georgian period, c1830-40. These earrings likely started life as something else, possibly buttons, and have been converted to be worn as earrings, though they came to me as they are. They have fabulous clear paste stones set in closed back silver settings. The petals have a distinct shape with a round paste at the centre. The earrings are beautifully large and look incredible in the ear. They are complete with 9ct gold shepherd hook fittings and sit very comfortably.
Details:
Materials - Silver, 9ct Gold (both tested), Paste
Age - Late Georgian
Size - The earrings measure approx 18mm in diameter
Condition - Very good. One petal paste on one earring is damaged; please see the pictures. This is not at all visible when worn
Weight - 9.1g
