A wonderful and rare pendant from the late Georgian period, c1830s. The pendant is made from 15ct gold and is a classic Regency shape. The pendant has the most unusual and colourful glass cameos set into individual settings. At the centre is a pansy often said to mean ‘thinking of you’ due to its use originating from the French ‘to think/penser’. Four bright natural turquoise gemstones are set around this and four lovely pink flower cameos complete the look.
The pendant is a lovely example of cannetille work with metal beads and spirals in the beautiful gold. It has its original bail, which has another colourful glass cameo depicting green swallows. This really is a thing of beauty and rare to find, particularly in such wonderful condition.
