A stunning pair of earrings from the mid to late 18th Century. The earrings are made from silver with 9ct gold ear wires. They are beautiful ‘giardinetti’ or ‘little garden’ earrings; a style popular at the time, mainly for rings, as an interest in nature and botany flourished. They have large oval rubies at the centre and little diamond slices set throughout the leaves and petals with extra rubies to complete the garden effect. They are a good size and are beautiful in the ear with simple ear wires.
I have had the ear wires added via laser as the flowers came to me as simple parts with no fittings. The ear wires are marked as 9ct gold.

Size - The flowers measure approx 21mm long by 19.5mm wide excluding the fittings.
Condition - Very good. All stones look to be original with only one little diamond looking as though it may be a replacement (central bottom petal on one earring). One oval ruby has a chip to the bottom edge, covered over with the setting and possibly there originally. Some surface wear, commensurate with age. All noted for accuracy only
