Georgian Tiny Turquoise Glass Scent Bottle
An absolutely wonderful scent bottle from the Georgian period, c1800. The bottle is the smallest I have seen and is made from turquoise glass. It is a wonder it has survived so long! It has a pretty teardrop or water droplet shape and has a little pinchbeck chain attached to a pinchbeck cap. The bottle has its original cork stopper and the cap sits tightly onto this to keep it closed.
The chain pictured is for display only. This piece should be worn with care due to its fairly fragile nature.
Details:
Materials - Glass, Pinchbeck
Age - C1800
Size - The bottle measures approx 24mm long including the bail on the stopper, but not the jump ring on the chain. It is around 9.7mm wide.
Condition - Very good. A little loss to the pinchbeck on the cap, please see the pictures.
Weight - 1.02g
