Late Georgian Cannetille Carnelian Earrings

£0.00
sold out

A pretty pair of earrings from the late Georgian period, c1830s. The earrings have 15ct gold tops in a cannetille style with texture to the fittings and little elements of gold wirework around the bottom. The hooks are replacements and are marked with .375 for 9ct gold. Set within the decorative ‘cones’ are lovely carnelian drops. The carnelian is a rich orange colour and contrast beautifully with the high carat gold.

Details:

Materials - 15ct Gold (tested), 9ct Gold (hooks), Carnelian

Age - Late Georgian

Size - The earrings measure approx 22mm long excluding the hooks. They are around 8.5mm wide.

Condition - Very good. There is a little sign of glueing where the gold meets the carnelian, though this only noticeable through magnification and not visible when worn.

Weight - 2.89g the pair
