A stunning and unusual memorial ring from the end of the Georgian period, engraved with a date to the back. The ring is a beautiful flower shape with black enamel and decorative goldwork. The shoulders mirror the overall shape of the ring and exhibit little forget-me-nots with blue petals and dark orange centres. At the centre of the main flower is a little glass locket. This is firm in place, though it can be carefully removed for your own momento.
The ring has a decorative shank all the way around and is carefully engraved to the back with the words ‘Smith, ob. 15th May 1829, Aet 63’. Such a beautiful and unusual example with beautiful detail.

Age - Dated with engraving 1829
Size - The central flower measures approx 11.5mm by 10mm. The central locket measures around 4.5mm in diameter
Ring Size - UK N US 6 ¾ This ring cannot be resized
Condition - Very good. The enamel is in good order. Evidence of a previous resize to the back of the shank, though care has been taken to keep the decorative element. The full hallmarks have been affected. Please see the pictures.
