A stunning pendant from the Regency period, c1830s. The pendant is made from solid 15ct gold and exhibits wonderful cannetille work. Cannetille is an intricate work using gold wire and thin sheets wrapped in coils and rosettes creating a mildly 3D effect. This is a lovely example with the cannetille in beautiful condition.
The pendant has a pretty soft pink topaz set at the centre in an east/west setting and a pear shaped chrysoberyl in the lower drop. This combination of gemstones is fairly common during this period and the soft pink and lime green/yellow work perfectly together. This particular pendant is an elegant size making it very wearable and looks very pretty on the neck.
The chain pictured is for display only.
