A stunning and rare subject for a fob seal. This piece was made in the Victorian period and is made from solid 15ct gold. It depicts the most lovely subject; a flock of doves cocooned together. Doves, historically, are symbols of peace, hope and love and this seal has a beautiful feel about it with a sense of movement in the way it has been designed. To the base there is a banded agate shield set in the gold. There is some wear to the dove’s breasts; almost as if the fob has been rubbed in comfort, though it remains in lovely condition.
