A stunning brooch from the end of the Victorian period, dated with clear hallmarks for Chester 1901. The brooch is made from solid 15ct gold and is super quality. It is a pretty elongated oval shape with lovely details. There is a ‘ribbon’ of gold that is threaded through a circle of split pearls. This is studded with a little old cut diamond and an arrow acts as the ‘fastening’ for the ribbon. The arrow has a natural pearl on the end. The brooch has a gold ‘bead’ border and every care and attention has been given to the design and construction.
To the back, there is an oval locket that has the original glass. This can be removed to place your own momento or picture inside. The brooch has a working pin, though it also has a bail. It can be worn as a brooch, as an extender (though the weight to the front makes it more suitable for medium to heavy chains) or as a pendant. All pictured.
