Victorian Blonde Tortoiseshell Piqué Pinky Ring
A wonderful and rare ring from the Victorian period. The ring is made from blonde tortoiseshell and is a beautiful honey orange hue. The ring has a stunning domed shape allowing a soft golden glow to emanate from within. It is set with a 9ct gold monogram; the letters look to be FJ, though as is often the case, this is not wholly clear! They have been inlaid into the tortoiseshell in the manner of piqué. A wonderful and unusual piece.
Details:
Materials - Blonde Tortoiseshell
Age - Victorian
Size - The head of the ring measures approx 23mm up the finger and is around 22mm wide. It sits approx 7.8mm from the finger.
Ring Size - UK G ½ US 3 ¾ This ring cannot be resized.
Condition - Good. Some wear to the tortoiseshell on the underside. There looks to be a crack in the back of the shank, though this has not gone all the way through and the ring is stable.
Weight - 4.3g
