Victorian 'Cher Souvenir' Aide Memoir

£260.00

An exquisite silver pendant originating from France. The pendant is an aide memoire and has the words ‘Chers Souvenirs’ written in decorative script to the front. This translates to ‘dear memories’. Inside the little notepad, there are silver pages that were once fully gilded and showing remnants of the gold colouring. These have been engraved with dates: 28 Avril, 4 Mai, 10 Mai 1897 on one page and 17 et 18 Mai 1897, 13 Octobre 1897 and 29 Juillet 1898 on another. Such a point in history and who can know what the dates relate to. The pendant is complete with a silver split ring meaning that it could be added to a chain at any point.
