A pretty locket from the end of the Victorian period, c1880s. The locket is made from solid 18ct gold and has the cutest design. To the front, a green enamel three leaf clover crosses from the top to the bottom of the envelope design and a rose diamond has been set at the centre. The flap of the envelope opens on a hinge and the bottom flaps also opens to reveal a little oval locket within. The locket panel is open to one end to allow you to slide your photo inside. Such beautiful detail and so pretty on a simple chain.
The chains pictured are for display only.
Details:
Materials - 18ct Gold (tested), 9ct Gold Bail (tested), Enamel, Diamond
Age - Late Victorian
Size - The envelope measures approx 19mm by 14.5mm. All measurements exclude the bail.
Condition - Good. The back of the locket is a little dinged and exhibits the life the locket must have seen! I have taken pictures of this. The picture that exhibits the most dings make it look a little worse than in real life, whilst the other makes it look cleaner. Tricky to photograph! There is also a small ding to the front at the line of the envelope flap, not particularly obvious.
Weight - 3.4g
