Victorian Cut Steel Tassel Pendant

£45.00

A pretty pendant from the Victorian period, c1860s. The pendant is made from cut steel beads, which have been threaded onto metal wire and twisted into a rope twist. Each tassel is an individual twist of beads and there are five tassels in total. They are set into a faceted steel cap and finished with a silver bail. The tassel is a lovely size and looks great with a collection of charms or worn alone on a chain.

The chain pictured is for display only. Cut steel was used in jewellery from the 1700s until the 1930s and was an inexpensive substitute for diamonds given its glittering appearance in candlelight.

Details:

Materials - Cut Steel, Silver (Bail only)

Size - The pendant measures approx 66mm long including the bail. The tassel is around 15mm wide.
