Victorian Decorative Shield Signet Ring
A charming signet style ring from the Victorian period, made from solid 18ct gold. The construction of this ring is fairly rudimentary and it has likely been been cut from a sheet of gold judging by the mildly undulating underside. A shield emblem has been engraved into the front and it has decorative ‘scales’ to the shoulders. I love the simplicity of the style and it sits very flat to the finger making it very comfortable on the finger.
There is evidence that there were either some initials or a date inscribed on the shield, though this has worn over time and is now illegible, noted for accuracy and all part of the charm.
