Victorian Elephant Hair Bracelet
A pretty and unusual example of this style of bracelet from the Victorian period. The bracelet is made from plaited elephant hair that has been highlighted with 9ct gold twisted wire throughout. The elephant hair has likely been brought back from a trip to India as a souvenir. The hair was often saved when it fell out of the elephant’s tail. This bracelet is complete with a large gold clasp. This tests as 14kt gold and opens on a slide mechanism, making it very secure on the wrist. A great addition to any bracelet stack!
