Victorian Enamel Witches Heart Pendant

A pretty and striking pendant from the late Victorian period. The pendant is heart shaped with a little kink in the tip; commonly known as a witches heart. This heart shape came to symbolise a person being ‘bewitched by love’. This pretty example has vibrant turquoise enamel to the back and the front. The shine of the enamel has worn over time giving it an overall matte appearance. This is no way detracts from the beautiful colour. At the centre front is a little split seed pearl.

The chain pictured is for display only.
