Victorian Faith, Hope & Charity Pendant

sold out

A beautiful pendant from the Victorian period. This pendant has been rescued from a dying brooch that had lost its pin keeper. The setting is beautifully intricate and made from solid 18ct gold. One little ball claw is missing, though this is not wholly obvious and this piece certainly felt worth saving. The bail has been created from what was left of the pin and is a slightly lower gold carat, testing as around 14/15ct. Within the decorative ball claws firmly sits a natural purple amethyst with a pretty carving for faith (cross), hope (anchor) and charity (heart). The three symbols lean against each other and are beautifully carved.

The chain pictured is for display only.

Details:

Materials - 18ct Gold, 14/15ct Gold (both tested), Amethyst

Age - Victorian

Size - The intaglio in the setting measures approx 14mm by 12mm. The whole piece measures around 23mm long including the bail.

Condition - Very good. Missing claw as mentioned above, otherwise excellent

Weight - 2.5g
