Victorian Family Book Locket
A wonderful locket from the Victorian period. The locket is made from solid 9ct gold to the outer whilst the photo sections are made from gold coloured metal. This is a common method of construction during this period, known as 9ct back and front. The locket has beautiful floral engraving, which is wonderfully decorative, and a lovely latch to one side. The spine of the book also has pretty and well thought out details. Inside, there is space for up to 8 photos. The photos slide into the bottom of each frame. The central oval does not move from its position, though a photo could be placed there as there is a lip. The pages secure in place and the latch of the locket has a secure click. Overall, the locket is a lovely, substantial size and has been well made.
